A company secretary is a person hired to guarantee that all regulations governing a company’s operations are followed in order to register corporate transactions. Introduction of the course

A member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India is a Company Secretary. One must complete the Company Secretary Course in order to become a member.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a statutory entity established under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, conducts the Company Secretary course.

Structure of course

This course is primarily a distance learning course, comprising three stages, viz.

(i)      Foundation Programme;

(ii)     Executive Programme;

(iii)    Professional Programme.

Foundation Programme

For students who have completed Senior Secondary (10 + 2 or equivalent) and wish to enroll in the Company Secretary Course, the Foundation Program has been established. The course allows students who have passed their Senior Secondary exams in any stream, or who have appeared or enrolled for the examination, to choose their professional path at that time and start the field early.

Executive Programme

The applicant can enroll in the Professional Program immediately after passing the Executive Program test.

Executive Program registration is open to all graduates and post-graduates (excluding fine arts).

Professional Programme
